Mango is considered a perennial fruit tree, suitable for Vietnam’s weather and climate. Therefore, it can be seen that mango trees are planted spread out on the S-shaped map. Each region will lead to different flavors for mangoes. Currently, the total mango growing area reaches 87,000 hectares and the output is 969,000 tons/year. The area with the highest mango growing output is the Mekong Delta including the following provinces: Tien Giang, Dong Thap, An Giang, Ben Tre, Can Tho, Vinh Long,…

Businesses are increasingly interested in improving quality and value, in order to penetrate new, more demanding markets. Especially when exporting mangoes to demanding markets such as the US, Europe, Korea, Japan, etc., it is compulsory to upgrade product quality to succeed in exporting.

That explains why businesses have invested more in technology development, particularly technologies for processing and packaging, meeting food safety standards with VietGAP, GlobalGAP, HACC, BRC certifications, etc. Currently, mango export will become a highly potential market and bring high economic value.

Mangoes that meet standards must be clean, have beautiful skin, free from pests, have no residue of pesticides and be packed in 10kg boxes. After careful selection and removal of damaged fruits, the mangoes will be subjected to heat treatment, this is an important process inspected and certified by quarantine officers before being exported to the international market.
